🔼 Match Recap. The Volleydawgs played a close match at home against LSU but ultimately fell in four sets. State took the first set of the game 25-19 behind solid offensive play from Sophie Agee. She finished with a team-high 12 kills while Lauren Myrick added 21 digs on the match. Next up, State will face off against Georgia on Friday night in Starkville.

🔼 All Square. After jumping out to a two-goal lead in the first half, the Bulldogs battled their way into a 3-3 draw against Tennessee on Friday night. The scoring started with Hannah Johnson’s first of the game with Ally Perry adding another not long after just before the halftime whistle. In the second half, Johnson headed in her second goal of the game on a beautiful cross. With Tennessee battling back with goals of their own, the scoreboard was all tied at the end of action for the night.

Next up, the 6-3-3 Bulldogs face off against Florida on Thursday evening.

🔼 Til The End. In a tough battle against top-15 ranked Alabama, the Bulldogs fell 40-17 in front of the Maroon and White faithful. Mike Wright got the scoring going for the Bulldogs in the second quarter with a 15-yard rush, his second rushing score of the season, and in the second half, quarterback Will Rogers connected with Jeffery Pittman to cut the lead to two scores. Ultimately, the Bulldogs were unable to mount a comeback despite the electric atmosphere the State fans pumped into Davis Wade Stadium all night long.

Next up, the Bulldogs will square up against Western Michigan at 11:00am in Starkville.

🔼 Pair of Wins. Dynamic Bulldog men’s tennis duo Radomir Tomic and Roberto Ferrer Guirmaraes both came away with wins at the ITA All-American during the prequalifying singles consolation round. Tomic defeated his opponent in straight sets while Guirmaraes took his match to three sets, but ultimately, came away with the win.

🔼 Unique Opportunity. Both the Bulldog men’s and women’s golf teams will head to Fayetteville, AR, to compete in the Blessings Collegiate Invitational where the two will compete both individually and as a team. Last year, Julia Lopez Ramirez captured the individual title, and the Bulldog women took home the team title. This season, the three-day event will feature the nine-school field each day on the GOLF Channel from 3:30pm CT - 6:30pm CT.

🗣️ "This is a fun week for all of us. As a coach, I love this tournament because the Blessings is a great test of golf that requires focus and discipline every single shot." - Men’s golf head coach Dusty Smith

🔼 With Much Anticipation. Coming off of a round of 32 appearance in last season’s NCAA Tournament, Bulldog women’s basketball is ready to carry that momentum into a highly anticipated 2023-24 season.

Alongside the experienced talent from last season’s team, head coach Sam Purcell went out and added three of ESPN’s top 35 transfers in Lauren Park-Lane, Derrione Rogers and Erryn Barnum. The goals for this program this year are high, and with Coach Purcell at the helm, this Bulldog team has what it takes to go far this season.

🗣️ "I have major goals for this program and big ideas and that's why I couldn't be more happy with [AD] Zac Selmon and our administration who supports the vision." Sam Purcell

🤔 BULLDOG TRIVIA
