Perseverance: The Segars Story. After an unexpected medical issue sidelined Anna Kate Segars in 2021, she faced a long road of diagnostic testing and recovery with her eyes set on an improbable return to the field. 🔼 All the Buzz. Bulldog men’s basketball media days is underway, and head coach Chris Jans headed into SEC ‘24 Tipoff alongside Cameron Matthews and Shakeel Moore for a full state of appearances. The trio met with a wide variety of media personnel and media outlets including ESPN, CBS, NCAA and Sirius XM to get their thoughts on State’s season that starts in just 24 days.

🔼 The Boy of Fall. Thanks to a stellar performance at the ITA Southern Regionals, Petar Jovanovic will be the sole representative at this year’s ITA National Fall Championships in San Diego, CA. Jovanovic finished as the singles runner-up after six days of outstanding tennis.

🔼 The Last Ride. The Soccer Dawgs will square up in their match against Vanderbilt for the last time this regular season in front of the Maroon and White faithful. The team heads into the matchup off a Team of the Week selection from NCAA soccer and is a perfect 3-0 so far in the month of October. The Bulldogs are just one of four SEC teams to be ranked in the top 20 in RPI heading into the matchup against the Commodores.

🔼 From State to Sundays. At the one-third point in the NFL season, it’s time to take a look at how some of the former Bulldog football players have been performing on Sundays so far this season.

The Bulldogs are living up to their D-Line U reputation as Denico Autry, Fletcher Cox, Jeffery Simmons and Chris Jones have all been foundational pieces for their respective teams. These four defensive lineman have combined for 62 tackles and 12 sacks on the season so far.

Quarterback Dak Prescott has helped lead the Cowboys to a 4-2 record with 1,333 passing yards on 69% accuracy, and cornerback Martin Emerson has filled a huge role with the Cleveland Browns with 14 tackles and an interception.

Up They Go. Bulldog soccer has put together an incredible stretch of games in October, and people outside of Starkville are starting to put together that this is a pretty good team.
