🔼 Watch Out. For the third time in three years, Lauren Park-Lane was named to the Nancy Lieberman Award Watch List. The award goes the nation’s best point guard at the end of the season, and Park-Lane was named as 1 of 20 honorees on this year’s preseason watch list.

It’s not hard to see why her name was put up for discussion. In the past three seasons, the first-year Bulldog has averaged at least 17.5 points per game, and last season, averaged 6.3 assists per game.

🔼 Finals Bound. No. 68 Petar Jovanovic secured his spot in the finals of the ITA Southern Regional Championships after picking up a pair of wins. His first win was had in straight sets while the quarterfinal matchup provided some suspense. Ultimately, Jovanovic claimed the victory 6-2, 2-6, 6-4 to advance to the finals.

The finals appearance also earned Jovanovic a spot in the ITA National Fall Championships in San Diego, the second time in as many years a Bulldog has qualified for the tournament.

🔼 High Powered. Following the Volleydawgs’ incredible win knocking off No. 14 Florida, Amina Shackelford was awarded with the SEC Co-Offensive Player of the Week. The rightside hitter dominated in her showing, earning a season-high 18 kills, two blocks and had an impressive .469 hitting percentage.

🗣️ "[Amina Shackelford] has been fine tuning her game and working extremely hard in practice to rise up and be just a little bit better for her team, and I think we saw her take it to an entirely different level against Florida!” - head coach Julie Darty Dennis

🔼 Looking Ahead. The Bulldogs will return to the gridiron this weekend to face off against Arkansas, but looking ahead, State’s matchup on the road against Auburn has been finalized. MSU will head to Auburn for a 2:30pm kickoff that will be aired on the SEC Network. The two will meet for the 96th time on the football field.

🔼 Keeping Pace. For the third time this fall, Bulldog men’s golf will head into the final round of the Fallen Oak Collegiate Invitational in second place. Following the second round of action, State sits at 6-under par and five strokes off of first place.

Junior Josep Serra currently leads all State golfers at 4-under par and sits in a tie for second place through two rounds. Joining him in the top-10 is Hunter Logan who is 2-under par and in a tie for sixth. The Bulldogs will look to track down a first place finish in the final round of play today.
