🔼 History Made. For the first time in program history, Bulldog volleyball took down the No. 14 ranked Florida Gators at home. It was also the first time the Volleydawgs came up with a win against a top-15 ranked Florida team.

The victory was had in four sets thanks to the play of Amina Shackelford and Sophie Agee who combined for 34 kills and three blocks on the match. As a team, State held the Gators to a .250 hitting percentage and forced Florida into making 24 errors.

🔼 Last Run. Concluding regular season play on Friday, Bulldog cross country finished in seventh place at the Crimson Classic. In the team’s sole 5.85K, Ramot Jimoh led the team with a 14th place individual with a time of 20:36.1. State cross country will head to the SEC Championship on Oct 27th to compete for a title.

🔼 Big Win. These Dawgs came to play. The Bulldogs hit the road to Lexington, KY, and handed the No. 18 Wildcats their first loss of the season after earning a 2-0 victory.

State got their first goal of the game from an own goal courtesy of the Wildcats, but in the 78th minute, Maggie Wadsworth slotted home a beautiful cross from Hannah Johnson to put the team up by two. Now, the 9-3-3 Bulldogs will return home for the last time this regular season on Thursday to face off against Vanderbilt.

🔼 Keep On Keeping On. Another day at the ITA Southern Regional Championships showcased a pair of Bulldog men’s tennis players moving on to the quarterfinals. Petar Jovanovic and Benito Sanchez Martinez, playing as singles, each earned straight set victories to advance to the the quarterfinal round of the tournament.

🔼 Perfection. State softball closed out its fall ball season with a perfect 8-0 record after defeating both Middle Tennessee and Pearl River CC on Saturday evening. The team will conclude fall practice after the Bulldogs’ annual Fall World Series.

🔼 Hot Start. Through round one at the difficult Fallen Oak Collegiate, the Bulldogs jumped out to a six-stroke lead and currently sit in first place. Four State golfers sit inside the top-12 with Hunter Logan leading the way after carding a 5-under par 67 to finish in a tie for first place.

Playoffs? Playoffs! The MLB Playoffs are down to four teams, yet a good amount of former State baseball players are still pushing for a shot at a World Series title.
