🎙️ DEAR OL’ STATE

Dear Ol’ State: “Talking Nice” To Sam Purcell. Last season, Bulldog women's basketball head coach Sam Purcell made sure everyone around the country was "talking nice" about his new team. 🔼 Champion Times Two. After falling behind in the first set of the championship doubles match at the ITA Southern Regional, Alexandra Mikhailuk and Athina Pitta went to work and grinded out a come-from-behind win to bring home the hardware. With the win, both Bulldogs qualified for the ITA Fall National Championships - a first for State women’s tennis in recent history.

🗣️ “I'm so incredibly proud of these two, they battled hard and clearly fought. They had tough starts in both the semifinals and today, but trusted Taylor [Russo] during those times to turn both matches around.” - head coach Chris Hooshyar

🔼 He’s Back. From two-time captain of the men’s basketball team and leader of the 1995 Sweet Sixteen team, Marcus Grant is back in Starkville to help the program navigate the future of college sports. Grant will help lead Bulldog men’s basketball’s NIL initiatives as the newest associate director.

🔼 Another in the Win Column. State football is heading into the bye week with confidence after coming out of Saturday’s matchup with a win that featured some big plays on both sides of the ball. Relive the victory with some of the best moments and highlights from the game against Western Michigan.
