Dear Ol’ State: Julie Darty Dennis Discusses Her Surging Dawgs. Mississippi State volleyball has won six in a row and will look to keep it up Friday afternoon when the Bulldogs welcome LSU to The Griss. On the latest episode of Dear Ol' State, Joel Coleman and Logan Lowery welcome head coach Julie Darty Dennis back to the show to talk about her team's momentum and her excitement for her squad.

🔼 Top Ten Showdown. Fresh off receiving their highest ranking in program history, the No. 7 Bulldog soccer team will go head-to-head against conference foe and top-ranked Arkansas on its home turf tonight at 6 p.m. State is 9-1-0 to start the 2024 season and is one of just three programs in the nation to allow only two goals through its first 10 matches. On offense, the Bulldogs have had 12 different goal scorers in 10 matches, led by the midfielder phenom, Ally Perry who has netted six goals so far this season.

🔼 It All Starts Here. The Volley Dawgs are back at The Griss for the team’s SEC home opener against LSU later this afternoon. Entering the matchup on a six-game win streak, the Bulldogs are on their longest win streak since the 2022 season. State is ranked third nationally and first in the SEC with 13.71 assists per set.

🔼 Ready To Run. Looking to build on the six personal bests set in its last race, the Mississippi State cross country team is preparing for the Joe Piane Invitational, hosted by Notre Dame. State is among 22 teams, facing its toughest competition thus far, going toe to toe with three top-five squads, as well as conference foe Vanderbilt. The Bulldogs are sending nine girls to the line as Ramat Jimoh, Gabrielle Boulay, Kaitlyn Burge and Trinity Holland look to improve on their personal bests set at the last race.

🔼 Glue Guy. Bulldog men’s basketball’s Cameron Matthews can do it all, and more and more people are starting to see it. Check out what college basketball analyst Jon Rothstein had to say about the 6-foot-7 forward.

🔼 In It For The Long Haul. Bulldog softball has its head coach locked down for the future after Samantha Ricketts signed a four-year contract extension through the 2028 season. She has guided the Bulldogs to their first NCAA Super Regional and highest ranking in program history in her first five years at the helm, and her career winning percentage is the highest of any head coach in program history. Ricketts will enter her sixth season as the head coach and 11th overall in Starkville in 2025, becoming the second-longest-tenured head coach currently employed by the Bulldogs.
