🔼 Certified Fresh. Following his impressive performance against Georgia on Saturday, quarterback Michael Van Buren Jr. was named the SEC Co-Freshman of the Week. No. 0 had a breakout performance in his second career start. He set new season-bests in passing yards (306), passing touchdowns (3) and passing attempts and completions (20-for-37). He also became the second State quarterback in program history to throw for over 300 yards against Georgia.

🔼 First Timer. The Bulldogs’ senior forward, Aitana Martinez-Montoya, has been named the SEC Offensive Player of the Week for the first time in her career after a standout performance across two crucial victories. The Madrid, Spain native delivered a five-point week, scoring two goals and recording an assist to help propel the Bulldogs to wins over Georgia and Missouri. With five goals, three assists, and 13 points so far this season, Martinez-Montoya has been a driving force behind the team’s success, helping maintain strong form in SEC play.

🔼 Future Star. Last season, Josh Hubbard burst onto the scene as one of the SEC’s top freshmen. This year, Hubbard will look to lead Bulldog men’s basketball through a tough schedule after being named a Preseason All-SEC Second Team selection. Hubbard racked up 17.1 points, 2.2 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game during his first year, and his 17.1 points per game are the fourth-most among SEC returning players in 2024-25.
