🎙️ DEAR OL’ STATE

Dear Ol’ State: Dawgs Dominate And Keep Growing. Mississippi State women’s hoops rolled to a blowout win over Auburn on Thursday and in the process, gave a glimpse at just how special the Bulldogs can be. On Dear Ol’ State, Joel Coleman and Logan Lowery discuss how MSU is starting to really come together, plus hear interviews with Eniya Russell and Chandler Prater.

🔼 New Heights. On a special edition of the Hail State Podcast Network this past Friday, Mississippi State Director of Athletics Zac Selmon shared exciting news about the future of Bulldog sports! Give it a listen!

🔼 Extra Credit. It took more than 40 minutes, but when the final buzzer finally sounded on Saturday, Mississippi State men’s basketball came away with a 65-60 overtime win at South Carolina on Saturday. Riley Kugel led the Bulldogs with 15 points off the bench.

🔼 Midwest Matchup. Mississippi State women’s hoops heads north to Missouri today, taking on the Tigers in Columbia at 7 p.m. on the SEC Network. Missouri is 11-10 overall this season and 0-6 in SEC action, with nine of its 10 wins coming at home.

🔼 Bringing Home Hardware. Mississippi State track and field had a successful weekend at the Orange and Purple Invitational in Clemson, S.C. this past weekend, winning several events. On Friday, Kennedy Stringfellow won the men’s long jump in 7.67m, Nicholas Fakorede won the men’s 60m in 6.60, and Lauren Lewis won the women’s 600m in 1:32.88. Saturday was highlighted by Abdullahi Hassan’s win in the men’s 800m in the sixth-fastest NCAA time of all-time, 1:45.53.

🔼 Always Innovating. Pitchers are usually in the business of making sure hitters fail when they're at the plate, but Hosanna Lindblade has spent the past year looking to help them succeed.

Throughout the summer following her freshman season, Lindblade and student manager Rachel Barber interned with the athlete engineering institute on Mississippi State's campus. Their task? To develop a hitting platform that would integrate force plates to capture data in real-time while a batter is working on their swing in the cages.
