Bulldog Brew 1/20: A Day To Honor

Celebrating MLK Day with the Bulldogs

Good morning, MSU Fam. “If you can’t fly then run, If you can’t run then walk, If you can’t walk then crawl, But whatever you do, you have to keep moving forward.” - Martin Luther King, Jr.

Today, we pause to honor a man who moved our country and our society forward in so many ways.

As we celebrate victories, moments and stories in each and every Brew, let us remember those who helped pave the paths before us.

This morning, we hope you enjoy this mini-sized Bulldog Brew. (Think of it as a single shot of the Dogs)

We’ll be back with your Venti-sized edition on Tuesday.

🔼 Making A STATEment. Saturday was one that The Hump faithful will talk about for a while.

The 15th-ranked Bulldogs used the energy of a sold out crowd to jump all over #21 Ole Miss, and grinded out a hard-fought 84-81 overtime victory to improve to 15-3 on the season.

Coming off the bench, Riley Kugel and KeShawn Murphy were huge for MSU, combining for 39 points and 14 rebounds to lead the way.

🔼 Court Is In Session. Six matches. Six shutouts. Six victories.

It was quite a weekend for the MSU tennis squads who went a perfect 6-0 on the weekend, with the 11th-ranked men’s team picking up four straight 7-0 victories, while the women kicked off their spring campaign with back-to-back 4-0 sweeps.

🔼 One Step Away. 60 minutes.

That’s all that separates two MSU legends from yet another trip to the Super Bowl. Darius Slay and the Philadelphia Eagles grinded out a snow-covered win over the Rams on Sunday, while Chris Jones once again wrecked havoc from the defensive line as the Chiefs reached another AFC Championship game.

🔼 Opening Act. Nothing like starting the year with a bang.

MSU track & field did just that, competing at not one, but ✌️ meets with 14 personal bests being achieved by Bulldogs who laced them up at the Vanderbilt Invitational and the Samford Invitational.

🤔 BULLDOG TRIVIA

Glass Masters. Once again, MSU owned the glass in Saturday’s win over Ole Miss.

The Bulldogs grabbed 19 offensive boards in the victory. How many times has MSU pulled down 19+ offensive boards in a game this year?
