Dear Ol’ State: Jans Talks Kentucky And More. On the latest episode of Dear Ol’ State, Joel Coleman and Logan Lowery make their weekly trek to the office of head men’s basketball coach Chris Jans to look ahead at Saturday’s big game against Kentucky and more.

🔼 Hoops Hype. One of the more highly-anticipated games of the men’s hoops season is here — the No. 14 Bulldogs host No. 6 Kentucky tomorrow at 7:30 p.m. at the Hump, with doors opening at 6 p.m.! The Wildcats are 12-3 so far this season and have split their first two SEC matchups.

🔼 Top-10 Win. Women’s basketball picked up a marquee win on Thursday night, downing No. 10 Oklahoma, 81-77, at the Hump. The Bulldogs pushed their lead to 10 points at the end of the first quarter and held control for much of the game. Jerkaila Jordan led the way with 24 points.

🔼 First Set. The spring season is here for No. 11 Mississippi State men’s tennis, as the Bulldogs host both Tennessee State and Samford on Sunday in Starkville. Head coach Matt Roberts, associate head coach Jake Jacoby and assistant Trevor Gotkowski joined Dear Ol’ State earlier this week to preview the season.

🔼 Going Pro. Mississippi State’s Rylie Combs is headed to Sweden, as the soccer standout has signed a professional contract with Eskilstuna United in the country’s second division. Combs finished her Bulldog career as the 2024 SEC Defender of the Year this past season.
